EASPORTS really has cranked up the PR machine in anticipation of the November 16th release of EASPORTS Active 2. In the last few months they have announced that David Beckham and Venus Williams will be celebrity spokespeople for the product, and they have also been releasing a steady stream of promotional videos to drive player interest. The latest video, released last night on Facebook, reveals an impressive array of interesting and, perhaps more importantly, challenging looking exercises.
This next step in fitness gaming is truly a big step forward in transforming our consoles into a truly valuable platform for improving your health. While EASPORTS Active offered up some genuinely heart-pumping workouts, it was still difficult to work through several of the exercises while tied down with the Wii Remote in your hands. In my experience, for example, I purchased better quality resistance bands than the ones that came with the game. Those bands have a hard plastic handle, and getting a grip around both the handle and the Wii Remote/Nunchuck combination was a true pain in the posterior (which was not, at that point, the part of my body I was trying to work). EASPORTS Active 2 is going to eliminate that issue by using a series of sensors you attach to your body (or, in the case of the XBOX 360 version, by using the new Kinect camera).
Now if only EASPORTS could somehow figure out a way to make my living room bigger. Maybe that will be a feature in EASPORTS Active 3?
