Michael is in much better shape than he was this morning thanks to extremely quick thinking by hospital staff and an army of people who worked their tails off to get him out of the woods quickly. He’s no longer combative and his mental acuity is slowly returning. Michael doesn’t yet know who I am but he recognizes he’s in the hospital, which is miles away from where we were when I walked in this morning.
Today’s situation caught everyone off guard with how quickly it developed and devolved into an emergency. I’m still struggling with it myself and not ready to go into detail about the hows and whys. But I did want to take a minute to share that Michael has been stabilized and his cognitive abilities are improving as well. His situation is still serious but I felt comfortable leaving for a few hours this evening knowing he’s well in hand.
I’ll be back at the hospital very early in the morning to meet with the doctors and will give another update as soon as I get a minute but, as I mentioned before, I don’t want to commit to regular posts here until things settle down a bit more. Thanks for understanding. ❤️
