Update: 7/11

Michael is still in ICU to lessen the risk of exposure to infectious illnesses but is doing well enough that he could otherwise be in a regular hospital room. We are grateful he’s able to stay in ICU for that reason so no complaints here. Now we wait for the infection to finish clearing up and his fluid retention to decrease. Everything else with him (labs, vitals, physical activity level, etc) is at acceptable levels and his doctors have no concerns with those things. Every day is one step closer to going home. ❤️

  1. All right!!!! Thank all powers that be! And there’s a lot of them out there. So happy to hear he’s fighting and getting better!

  2. Started to post a message and notice blood on my arm, had to go bandage it. Got new knives so guess they are sharp enough.
So glad Mike is feeling better and yes, stay as long as possible so he doesn’t catch someone else’s germ. What have they said about how he got the bacteria in the blood? I guess mask are required when he comes home till he gets stronger. If I am allowed I have a good one and all the ones I made.
Let me know when you get the package. I have bit checked my emails except yours so I might have an update on delivery in them.
Can you stay in the room all day or only a short time. Know Mike is blessed you are there for him. Have a good night and love you both.

  3. The blood bacteria is just one of those things that happen and they may never know why. Could have been anything from a germ that came in through a drain line to someone bringing him his dinner tray. They are fastidious about infection control here but when germs want to find a host, they can be really tenacious.

They do let me stay with him all day, which I know I appreciate and I think he does too. I’ll be sure to let you know when his package arrives.
