Sooo…Things I’m looking at doing in the upcoming weeks…

Tomorrow night it’s over to squarewave and zayna‘s place for birthday shennanigans. Not sure if I’m going to actually make it out to The Castle after, but I’m at least showing up to get birthday spankings in.

Mmm…spankings.

Sunday is Super Bowl, and it looks like an informal party has sprung up here. This is going to be a seriously “not big” deal. xanboi was talking about bringing some chicken over to throw on the grill, and I think I’m going to procure a platter of sushi from Edo. If you wanna come, think healthy as far as the food bits you may bring along are concerned.

Next weekend, I’ve got a night of Karaoke madness ahead of me on Friday. Saturday night, all things being good and well in the world, I’m going to try to catch Topdog/Underdog and Phyro-Giants!. Sunday would be a Molten Core run with our allies in World of Warcraft.

Oy. My free time is starting to look too busy!

netgoth may or may not be with me at any and all of the above, depending on her homework load. At this point, as she posted recently, most social commitments from her end are going to be a maybe with a strong leaning towards probably not.

And on that note, I’ve got a meeting to get to.

Part of me is kind of disappointedly that I didn’t drop more of the cruise weight in the last week, but I’m damned happy with 3 pounds. Especially considering that I’ve now walked every day since we got back. I know I’ve built up more muscle in my legs again (as evidenced by the fact that netgoth keeps excitedly groping them), so I’m going to be ok with it. I had a great week. For the first time in a while, I followed program 100%. In fact, last night, I was actually treating myself to a few things because I had Flex points left (mmm…peanut butter). I know I’ve said it before, but man do I love this program. I mean, in the last week, I’ve had desserts almost every night. I’ve had chinese food. I’ve had Blueberry Muffins. I ate at Applebees…I wasn’t deprived at all.

And I lost 3 pounds.

I know I’d do better if I cut back on the coffee and quit smoking again, but I’m not quite ready to go that far yet. I’m also not in too much of a hurry to “kick up” the exercise routine. I don’t need intense exercise. I need consistent exercise. As long as I can maintain the daily walks, I’ll be fine. My biggest successes on program were during times when I was doing just that.

So..Three more weeks until my next set of pictures. I’m starting to look forward to it.

On "dieting", and berating those who do so

One of the things that has always stunned me is how nasty people who are overweight can be to those who they perceive to be thinner than themselves. I’ve been an active Weight Watchers member for just over five years now, and I’ve seen it a lot. The person who, frankly, looks like they might actually benefit from gaining a few pounds coming into the meeting and getting “looks” from the more obviously overweight ones. It’s like, somehow, there’s the measuring stick that people expect you to hold yourself up to before you have the right to claim that you are “fat.”

I call bullshit.
