Hey gang – any of you local folks have a copy of Doom 3 for the PC? My son bought it the other day, but unfortunately when he was brining it over here from his Mother’s house he dropped it in the front of the house and gouged the hell out of two of the discs. Neither one of them work now, and he cannot install the game. The cost of getting a repair kit is more than the cost of the discs themselves, and the toothpaste repair method didn’t work.

I mean, umm…Blizzard announces the next World of Warcraft expansion, Wrath of the Lich King.

So why my snarky title?  Read the FAQ and look at the trailer.  No new races.  The new class?  Once you unlock the ability to create one (by performing a series of quests at level 80) the character will start in the 60’s or 70’s.  No new lowbie or mid-game areas.  It’s all about the endgame.  Or, I should say, it’s all about adding content to get you to the new endgame.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again – Blizzard isn’t going to add any new mid-game content.  There may very well be new races and starting areas in a future expansion, but they aren’t going to spend any time working on the content that just gets players to the place where they are going to spend the majority of their game time. 

In some ways I think it’s kind of a bummer, because I’d love the ability to use my flying mount in Azeroth or go back and do some of the old content on Heroic mode, but I just don’t see it happening. 

Personally, I think it’s too soon for a new expansion at all and I hope this is pushed back until LATE 2008.  There’s still lots left I haven’t done in the current expansion.

52 pounds in 52 weeks update.

31 weeks have passed since I started, and I’ve lost 23.6 pounds in that time frame.  I am currently 7.4 pounds down from meeting this goal.  As I said before, I’m not focusing on meeting this anymore but I am curious to see if I actually hit it.

Because with the amount it’s been raining today I’m suprised I haven’t seen an old man building an ark in the parking lot.
