Because she had a crappy day yesterday, I present a link just for her….but you all can go click it, too.

Today…
Honestly, would have been much better if it had started and ended before I left my bedroom this morning. I woke up to cuddles and sweet words from netgoth, which is really the best way to wake up. Once I got out of bed, though, it was all down hill from there. Cleaning up puke first thing in the morning (that had been sitting on the ground for 4 hours) is not the best way to start the day. Frustration after frustration beyond that has made me a right surly bastard.
But…
The other day, I was thinking about my relationship with netgoth (especially since we celebrated Valentine’s over two days this weekend), and one song…oddly enough…kept going through my head…and now that she’s not able to peek over my shoulder to read as I’m writing it, I’m gonna post ’em.
Note to self – Buy this stuff
What are YOU doing tonight?
Thinking about going to The Castle? Think again! Tonight is the Gasparilla Night Parade in Ybor City! It’s going to be INSANE down there. Parking alone is going to cost you $20, and you’re going to have to deal with thousands of drunken idiots with wandering hands (ladies, if you’ve been you know what I’m talking about). Why on Earth would you want to do that?
How about some live theater instead?
For LESS than the cost of parking alone, you can get a ticket to see the Jobsite Theater’s Phyro-Giants! The Tampa Tribune says that “Phyro-Giants! has something new to say about relationships,” while the St. Petersburg Times calls it “Lively, crisp and entertaining.” What’s more, netgoth, etcet, aishlynn and I are going to be there. Great theater AND great company! You can’t miss!!
Tonight is the last performance of this show, so this is your last chance. Get out and support live theater!

On a completely unrelated note…. this is a damned tempting offer.

So I had a great time last night. Went out to Karaoke and finally met junwin (who, it turns out, I actually gave the code to start her LJ three years ago. It’s been so long I had forgotten!). It was an absolute delight to finally get a chance to meet face to face, even if it was hard to hear over the music. I also got to meet queenbarbee‘s other half, who was quite cool (and can throw some MAD gang signs). Several completely new faces to me as well, and a startling revelation – After years and years of promoting herself as a god-awful Karaoke singer, something happened to good_eeevening. She got good. Like, really good. Sure, maybe it’s only on the songs she’s done a billion times…but damn. And my, but does she turn her songs into a production for the rest of the bar.
I, on the other hand, was frustrated yet again by the selection. I guess my tastes are just far too eclectic (and I’m too over-anxious about sounding bad by picking a song I don’t know backwards and forwards). I choose “Thunder Rolls” by Garth Brooks first, but their CD had been stolen. I settled on the theme from “Rawhide,” but when I got up to do it the song started halfway through so I was up there for all of 30 seconds (and sounded like ass, because it wasn’t in the style of the Blues Brothers). Was going to do the Garth Brooks cover of “Shameless,” but I left before I was called again.
I just need to start carrying my own CD’s with me to these things.
Had some Outback Steakhouse goodness for an early Valentine’s Day dinner last night. Good, but hoooo the points. Yes, I actually calculated them. Needless to say, there are no FLEX points left for me this week.
And on that note, I’m gonna go for a walk. Later, folks.
Damn you, Milholland
Definitely more than “just a web comic.”

So I was reading Ain’t It Cool News just now, and I stumbled across some news about X3. Apparently there is a lot of fear out there that this movie is going to suck, and one of the examples as to why is this picture :
This looked interesting…

Update O-Rama
So, this morning I finally broke down and bought a new video card.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with the saga, I built a new computer around this time last year. It was, quite literally, on the bleeding edge of technology. Brand new line of motherboard, spiffy fast processor, lots of RAM. A truly fine machine. One of the features this rig had was SLI capability. SLI is, essentially, linking two identical video cards together to divide workload and improve performance. I purchased 2 Leadtek Nvidia Geforce6600GT cards and set to getting them to work.
Truth be told, they’ve never really worked right.
I had a lot of problems putting this machine together to begin with, but once it was running I began having problems with my video. I would get screen tearing, or flashes of screen distortion. Sometimes to the point where the game in question was unplayable. I have tried countless combinations of settings, switching out cards (up to an including sending two cards back for replacement), and I have come to the conclusion that either SLI completely sucks OR the secondary PCI-Express x16 slot on my motherboard is hosed. I actually suspect the latter to be the case, unless Leadtek just sent me back the same card twice.
The only way to really find out would be to install the one card I know is working in that slot, then put it back in the primary.
Not going to happen.
So, last night, my frustration with this finally came to an end when I loaded City of Villians and had half a screen of garbage (the half controlled by the second card). I pulled the other card out, for the final time.
Which leaves me with a 128MB video card.
While this doesn’t necessarily suck, for a right as powerful as mine it’s a bit on the frustrating side. So I decided that since I was being so very good and paying off credit cards left and right, I deserved to spend a relatively small amount on myself and upgrade my video. By the end of next week I should have a refurbished ATI XT1800 video card. Frankly, I never should have gone from ATI to begin with. I used ATI cards for years, and never had a problem with them.
Next time I know better.
