You know what I'd really like?

To never have to use the words “your chores” in any way whatsoever ever again.

Unless I was saying it in a sentence like “Wow, you’ve done your chores without being told every day for the last month.”

One of the things that amuses and frustrates me at the same time is realizing that I now sound as silly as my parents did when they kept saying the same shit to me over and over again when I was growing up….and how stupid I was for not just doing it to shut them up.

We’d have all been a lot happier.

It's not too late…

So I just got home from seeing Woman In Mind

This is the part where I do my standard “I know I say this every time” disclaimer, but you know what? There’s a reason I say that a lot. Jobsite puts on some really incredible productions. Woman In Mind was no different. I laughed my ass off (not that this is really something that wasn’t expected by those who have had me in their audiences before). I cried at the end. It was a wonderful, wonderful production and I highly recommend you go see it if you’re local.

Of course, if you want to do that you have to do it…today.

The last performance is this Sunday Afternoon.

The entire ensemble did stellar work in this cast, pulling performances out that are completely contrary to the types of roles you’re used to seeing them in. I haven’t had the pleasure of working with some of the folks in the cast, but I’ve seen or worked with them all in the past and I can say across the board that it’s some of the best work I’ve had the honor of watching them perform (up to and including the direction, costumes, and sets).

But Woman in Mind is, as the name implies, a story about a woman…and it was truly awe inspiring to watch Ami pull off the performance she did tonight. Seriously – if you’ve ever enjoyed her work in the past, go see this show. You won’t be disappointed.

Woman In Mind

I have not cleared this yet with netgoth, but I’m really hoping the two of us are going to go see Woman in Mind on Saturday night. I wanted to go this last weekend, but I had a big assed test to take in Calculus and I needed to focus my energies on that (I got a 96, for the record).

Thinking of…

In a moment of random smoosh, I now present to you a list of things I cannot see/hear/etc. without thinking of

 and smiling.

  • Cheetos 100 Calorie packs.  This is actually what inspired my post.  She calls them “weetos,” because they are Wee Cheetos
  • Apples
  • Panda Bears
  • The phrase “nom nom nom”
  • Female Gnomes in World of Warcraft (and particularly the phrase “Not enough rage!”)
  • The Reverend Horton Heat.  While I had heard (and actually had a copy of) several of his albums prior to meeting her, she is the person who got me to listen to him
  • VNV Nation’s album FuturePerfekt.  She made me listen to it the night we met
  • Spinach Pizza.  Another thing from the night we met.  Of course I’d had it prior to that, but it is another memory of that night
  • St. Augustine
  • Funeral Homes.  Every time I drive past one I look to see what kind of vehicles they have out front and run it through my “would Krystalle think this was a cool car?” filter
  • Good Eats
  • Whoose Line is it Anyway?
  • The phrase “genuinely tiny knickers”

Yep.  That’s it.  Drive by smoosh and completely random.  Enjoy the rest of your day.

A moment of bragging (fitness related)

I hit the reset button on my Yourself Fitness workouts on December 26th, 2006. That was the day after Alex got his own XBox and we had one back in the living room. 173 days have passed since that time, and I have worked out 130 out of those 173 days (right about 75%).

I’m pretty damn proud of that.

I have decided that, for the time being, I’m going to do Upper Body Strength workouts on the days that Maya wants me to do Lower Body workouts. Whenever I do a Physical Challenge I always max out the test numbers for Lower and Core body strength, and the fact is that despite the strength of my leg muscles the Lower Body workouts hurt because my knees just aren’t that good. I also get Lower Body workouts as part of my Cardio workout, which happens every day to some extent.

I continue to be dissatisfied with my upper body strength, though, and really want to focus more on that.

So…yeah…umm…that’s about the extent of my exciting post.

Weight Tracking Summary

Your current weight | 270.4 lb
Weight change since your last recorded weight | +0.2 lb
Total weight change to date | -148.8 lb

I’m pretty happy about this. I had a pretty huge loss last week, and the big fear was that I would “bounce back” a bit from that on Thursday. The fact that I only put back on .2 pounds after that makes me happy. I also got on my home scale today for comparison, and was down to 267 there (last time I weighed on that scale I was at 269).

So yeah. Still getting there. Still very happy with the progress I’m making.

Here’s hoping next week is the one where I officially break the plateau!
