Live from the trenches…

So we’re on break during our all-day rehearsal for We Won’t Pay! We Won’t Pay! Been here since about 11:00 this morning, and so far it’s been a pretty decent day. Very painless tech run this morning, which is a rarity (normally they are brutal). The company got us lunch (mmm…Publix subs) and we’re running the show at 5:00. David has promised to have us out of here by 8:00, at which point I’ll decide if I’m going over to Sil and Bob’s for Mordvergence.

I’m not feeling bad, but I’m definitely tired. Drank a lot last night, but I had a really good time. Truly an awesome group of folks who were at the party.

Hangover today is very mild. Got in some water and a few asprin, so it hasn’t really been an issue.

Other than that, nothing much going on. Going to go get in my costume so David can see how it looks. Hope you’re all having a good holiday weekend.

You know what I hate?

Those timed air fresheners in the bathroom.

Yes, I realize they are on a specific timer and that they go off on a regular interval regardless of whether or not anyone is actually IN the bathroom. Thing is, they always seem to go off when I’m in there, and every time it happens I get the feeling that the little bastard is specifically sanitizing against me. “Holy crap!” it seems to be saying. “Here comes Mike! Better make a pre-emptive anti-stink strike.”

Ahh technology – How you feed my paranoia.

If you decide to take a trip down memory lane, turn to page 42.

Growing up, one of my favorite series of books was the Choose Your Own Adventure series. I can’t remember how many of them I read, but I disctinctly recall several school book fairs when I walked away with a handfull of them. Well, Chooseco, the company who now owns the rights, is re-releasing the series (slightly modernized, but still the same stories). You can purchase the new line here!

Point/Counterpoint

Recently got an email from ross_winn pointing me to an article he wrote on RPG.net about games like World of Warcraft and how they compare to classic “Pen and Paper” role-playing games. You can read the article here.

I felt the need to respond to some of the points he made in his article, so I wrote him a long rebuttal. I’m not sitting down and writing much these days, so I thought I’d re-post my thoughts here just to prove that, yes, I do still occasionally take the time to do more than play video games.

Cut for her pleasure

Weight Loss Summary (Forgot to post this last night)

Your current weight | 278.0 lbs
Weight change since your last recorded weight | -0.4 lbs
Total weight change to date | -141.2 lbs

FINALLY. I’m back down to my last known weight before Goth Cruise. Sheesh. It’s only taken, what, four months to get rid of it?

Mannn

But I know I’m a healthier and better toned 278 now than I was back in January, and I’ll just continue to head that direction.

Next mini goal – 250. 23 pounds to go.

419.2 / 278 / 225

I can do this.

This sucks

I specificially asked for tonight off from rehearsal so I could go to the post-season baseball game that Alex is supposed to be playing tonight…

…and it’s been raining all morning.

Even if it stops now, chances are the field will be saturated tonight and they’ll call the game.

This is lame.

I just realized that I’m one credit hour away from getting my Associates in Arts degree.

One.

All I need to take is a lab. I don’t even need to take Biology. I can take an observational astronomy class to go along with the astronomy class I’ve already taken.

A class, unfortunately, they don’t offer online. Or over the summer.

So looks like next term I’m taking a Thursday night class.

Bummer, though. Looks like this will take me out of the running to be cast in The Pillowman and The Serpent. Ah well. Gotta have priorities.
