Input Requested – Tell me about your bank.

I work for a local financial institution that is based out of the Tampa Bay area. Recently, one of the higher ups in our organization has asked us to think “unconventionally” and see what we can do to appeal to a younger market. Financial instituions all across the country are seeing a drop in members recently, and we’re trying to figure out what we can do to attract some new blood (and keep what we have).

If you’ve got a minute, and would possibly like to help steer a financial instution in a direction that you think would make it a better business, tell me a little about yourself and how you bank.

How old are you?

Who do you currently bank with (if you don’t mind sharing)?

What do they offer you that you find beneficial?

What DON’T the offer you that you wish they did?

Do you use their online services? If so, do you like them? What do/don’t you like about them?

If the web site for your bank/credit union offered more than just a place to do home banking, would you visit it? What kind of content would make you visit on a regular basis?

Do you have accounts in more than one financial instution? If so, why?

What’s the single most important thing to you when selecting a financial instituion? What’s the least important thing?

If you can think of anything else that might help us in our efforts, feel free to add it. And don’t feel that you have to answer every one of these questions, either. I’m just trying to throw some things out there to get the thought process flowing. I may be following up with people who comment by asking additional questions based on what they’ve said. If you’d rather I not do so, let me know in your reply.

Thanks so much for your help!

And to top it all off….

Just found out that Santa died.

Silvasy, Joseph A., 66, of St. Petersburg, died Tuesday (Oct. 24, 2006) at St. Anthony’s Hospital. He moved here in 1977 from his native Warren, Ohio. He was an Army veteran and a welder-fabricator for a manufacturing company. He enjoyed travel and the collection of Christmas ornaments. For about 20 years he and his wife dressed as Santa and Mrs. Claus at their home in what became a seasonal tradition in the city. For the past five years he was the Santa in the Lions Club parade. Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Jackie M.; a son, Anthony J. “Tony,” St. Cloud; three daughters, Lori King and Deana Chambers, both of New Port Richey, and Dori McCloud, Warren; a brother, William T., St. Petersburg; two sisters, Dorothy Peters, Warren, and Susan Morris, St. Petersburg; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. R. Lee Williams Funeral Home & Crematory, 49th Street N Chapel, St. Petersburg.

Kim’s mother died early this morning. She’s leaving this afternoon to drive to Mississippi with her friend Duffy.

Edit Just to avoid any possible confusion, as we have several Kim’s in our social circle, I’m talking about my kid sister.

The 8th Annual Nightmare Before Christmas Party – Official Announcement

Hey folks! Just wanted to put the word out here that, yet again, we’ll be hosting a shindig at our place on Christmas Eve. Festivities should begin around 9:00 PM, and carry on until well after Santa has decided to pack it in and head home. We have some house guests on Christmas, so bed space will be limited, but there are still several couches and a other various places where one could sleep off a drinking binge!

If you need the address, let me know off LJ. Looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible again this year!

Tonight…

I utterly and completely aced my Astronomy Lab final.

Which means that I have completed the final class I needed for my A.A.

It’s now official – as of December 16th I’ll be a (junior) college graduate.

Ho Ho H…ahhh, fuggedabout

I was woken up this morning just after 7:00 AM with a phone call. This is never good. In my life I have discovered that calls before 8:00 AM and after 10:00 PM generally mean something fucked up is going on. This morning was no exception. My sister Kim is back at the hospital with both of her children. My niece Madison woke up in the middle of the night screaming that her stomach hurt, and it’s incredibly hard to the touch. Her son, Patrick (who was in the hospital not too long ago and has a condition that makes him very susceptible to illness) was throwing up. My hope is that Maddy just has some really bad gas and Patrick has caught the flu that is running around, but as of this point we don’t know.

Good times.

So on that cheery note, I figured I’d start a long overdue update.

An update? No way.

Yeah, it’s been a while. I guess I just haven’t felt all that chatty. Still don’t, really.

So instead you get snippet updates.

Krys is still not 100%, and deals with varying levels of pain from her gall stones.

Thankgsiving was a smashing success, culminating in an hour or so of hanging out with an old friend of mine as we watched a DVD I have of the first two theatrical productions we ever did – back in Middle School.

Wasn’t cast in any of the upcoming shows in the 06-07 Jobsite season. Had a few days of mopey emo angst over it. Mostly over it now.

Our WoW guild seems to be growing exponentially. We now have over 70 individual accounts in the guild, and will be making another attempt at the final boss in Zul’Gurub tonight.

Alex turns 11 on Friday. I’m old.

I need to see a chiropractor, or I need to get a new chair at work. By the end of the day I’m in almost excruciating pain.

Still need new shoes.

Not looking forward to getting on the scale Thursday. I’m doing my best to be good for the rest of the week, but I suspect the lack of activity and general crappy eating I’ve done over the last two weeks will reflect poorly (and I was already up 2 pounds the last time I weighed in).

Blah.

Yes, Blah is very much the word for today. It’s grey outside the windows here, but the sun reflecting off the grey clouds is casting a light that meshes poorly with the glare of the flourescents. I feel like my eyes are bugging out of my head, my back hurts, and…yeah…just blah.

Ok…I’m out.

Used XBox?

I was wondering if any of you folks out there that have moved up to Next-Gen consoles had a working XBox you’d be interested in selling?

Jobsite 2006-2007 Season/Ensemble

The final casts lists for the upcoming Jobsite season are now posted and available for viewing here. There’s some great talent out there, folks, and it’s going to be one hell of a season. If you haven’t picked up any tickets yet, I highly suggest you do so as soon as possible. The Pillowman had a great run, and from what I understand the latest fund raising weekend had sold out crowds as well. Jobsite is on fire, and waiting until the last minute to get your tickets might not be much of an option this year.

As much as I enjoy actually being in the shows, it sadly didn’t work out that way this year. I still intend on seeing as many of them as I can. I was blown away by The Pillowman, and I’m totally jazzed to see how else they are going to woo me for the rest of the season.
