Weekend Festivities
So this upcoming weekend is going to be jam packed. We’ve got a whole bunch of people coming into town who are in our guild to attend Mordvergence over in Tampa, and quite a few of them are staying here. Haven’t had that many people crashing at the house since Beau died, I think. Not for more than one night, anyway.
So here’s the itinerary on our side of the pond.
Thursday – Get some work done in the yard. Hit Sam’s Club. Stock up on sodas, snacks, and easy to eat foodstuffs for our guests. Chesch arrives early evening. Will hit the 5:30 Weight Watchers meeting and probably leave it early when he calls. Suspect he may want some grub, so wait on hitting Subway until he arrives. Last night of relative calm before the storm.
Friday – People arriving all day! John and Random arrive approximately 4:00 PM, have rental car and hotel so I suspect we’ll see them at the house a few hours after that. Rick and Karen land at 7:05 PM at St. Pete/Clearwater airport. Scott arrives early evening – has rental car. Blaise arrives at some point depending on when he leaves coccoa beach. I plan to have lots of sandwich fixings available in the house as co-ordinating one feeding time for all these folks with the different arrival times is going to be problematic at best. Once everyone arrives and is settled, get dolled up and head over to Ybor for Castle invasion. Probably go out to breakfast after, because…you know..that’s what you do.
Saturday – Wake up. This part is very important. Make some breakfasts for the horde. There is talk of a Dali Museum outing during the day. Pete arrives at some point. Mordvergence begins at 4 PM. Much fearing of the Mord commences.
Sunday – Laugh at the thought of being up and outside by 8 AM. Laugh even harder at the thought of roller blading. Bask in the safe comfort of not having all kinds of cuts and bruises and sleep for a few more hours. Wake up, more breakfasts, figure out daytime activities. Chesch needs to be at the airport for a 5:50 flight, so probably drop him off on the way over to Rafe and Kim’s for evening festivities there.
Monday – Low key activity day. Possibly hit the Lowry park zoo. Not sure when some folks are leaving yet. Maybe they never are! Edited to add Rick and Karen fly out from St. Pete/Clearwater at 9:30 PM.
Tuesday – John and Random depart. Realize I have to actually go back to work the next day. Take comfort in the fact that I’ll at least be working from home.
Another in a long line of terribly interesting "for the record" posts…
I have a million things to do today.
I do not want to do them.
I am supposed to do my physical challenge and a lower body workout today.
I REALLY do not want to do them.
I am off to do so.
That is all.
Proud Father
My son just called to tell me that he received 8 different awards upon his graduation from elementary school today, ranging from academic to behavioral achievements. He was also on the Principals list AGAIN for the final grading term.
Damn, I’m proud of that boy.

[Weight] Weight Tracking Summary
Forgot to post last week, which was…
Your current weight | 274.6 lb
Weight change since your last recorded weight | -3.8 lb
Total weight change to date | -144.6 lb
Current week…
Your current weight | 272.6 lb
Weight change since your last recorded weight | -2 lb
Total weight change to date | -146.6 lb
That is four straight weeks of weight loss in a row. The exercise and perseverance seems to be paying off.
Next week – measurements and new pictures.
Kind of excited, really.
Frustration
There is a downfall to running a guild in which the large majority of your players are not only people you know in real life, but people who actually read your live journal. It kind of makes it difficult for me to take off my “diplomatic manager hat” and be a snarky, nasty asshole in my blog.
Which, if this is the place I’m supposed to be able to just vent and be myself, must mean I’m a snarky, nasty asshole.
Meh. I can live with that.
Regardless, I will choose discretion in this and not go into truly sordid details.
I just wish that people would have talked directly to me, or if I was unapproachable one of the other officers, instead of letting this shit fester to the point where heads exploded.
I also find it sad/amusing that someone who we let into our guild because of drama caused when they refused to group with someone in another guild started the same problems in our guild. I guess I should have seen that coming.
[WoW] There are times….
…when it’s really hard not to become this guy.
That is all.
Odd things….
Feeling quite stressed today, and I find myself looking forward to getting home. Not because I want to relax, but because I want to work out.
I don’t think I’ve ever had that particular motivation on a regular basis before.
Strange.
Weight Tracking Summary
| Your current weight | | 278.4 lb |
| Weight change since your last recorded weight | | -1.2 lb |
| Total weight change to date | | -140.8 lb |
I am ok with this. I am not ecstatic about it, but I’m ok. It’s within the normal realm of acceptable weight loss, and my clothes are getting unquestionably looser. What I’m doing is working, but it’s going to be much slower than the last time I dropped a lot of weight. I’m…not ok with that…but it’s realistic and I have to accept it.
Positives, though –
Tomorrow will be 8 weeks without a cigarette. I no longer have a smoker’s cough, and my singing voice has improved dramatically.
I did a 60 minute workout on Wednesday. Mind you, it was a flexibility workout and not really very intense, but it was still 60 minutes. When I started back on the Yourself Fitness bandwagon in December I was doing 15 minute workouts and they were kicking my ass. Tonight I’m going to try to do a 60 minute cardio workout before going to Alex’s baseball game. That should be fun.
I’ve started giving myself fewer points for workouts. It’s VERY hard to convert what I do with Y!F to activity points, because like any decent workout the intensity changes throughout. If I work out for 45 minutes, it’s not 45 minutes of just one level of activity (and as it changes every day it’s hard to guess how long of each type I do…and I’m not taking notes while I workout). At the end of a workout I get a “calories burned” total. I was giving myself one point for every 50 calories, but based on something
said I did some research on the Weight Watchers forum and confirmed that the consensus seems to be one point for every 100 calories. I’ve also started immediately using the points I get for working out to get some healthy protein in (a hand full of almond and a few slices of turkey breast generally do the trick).
I’ve started taking measurements (last week) instead of just counting on the scale to see results. Am only going to take them once a month, though.
Speaking of food, it’s time to go get some salad with
, so I’ll catch you cats later.
